This Privacy Policy explains how Videcap ("Videcap," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your personal information when you visit our website, install our application, or otherwise use our services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using Videcap, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of it, please do not use our Services.

This Privacy Policy applies whenever you:

  • Create a Videcap account or log in to an existing one

  • Install, download, or use the Videcap application, desktop client, or browser extension

  • Record, upload, edit, or share video content using our Services

  • Attend an event, webinar, or demo hosted or sponsored by Videcap

  • Are referenced as a business contact by an existing Videcap customer

In this Policy, "Personal Data" or "Personal Information" means any information that identifies you or could reasonably be linked to you, either on its own or combined with other data we hold.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you sign up or use Videcap, you may give us:

  • Account details: name, email address, password, profile photo, job title, and company name

  • Billing information: billing address and the last four digits of your payment card (full payment details are handled by our payment processors, never stored by us)

  • Communications: messages you send to support, feedback, survey responses, and content of correspondence

  • Recorded content: videos, screen recordings, audio, voice-overs, transcripts, captions, screenshots, and any documents or files you upload, edit, or share through Videcap (collectively, "User Content")

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Services, we automatically collect:

  • Device data: device type, operating system, browser type and version, screen resolution, and unique device identifiers

  • Usage data: features you interact with, pages visited, recordings created, clicks, session duration, and timestamps

  • Network data: IP address, approximate location (city or region level only), and ISP

  • Diagnostic data: crash logs, performance metrics, and error reports

2.3 Information From Third Parties

We may receive information about you from:

  • Single sign-on providers (such as Google or Microsoft) if you choose to sign in through them

  • Integration partners if you connect Videcap to other tools you use

  • Analytics and enrichment providers that help us understand product usage

  • Referrals from existing users who invite you to view or collaborate on a recording

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the core Videcap recording, editing, transcription, and sharing features

5.2 Collaborators You Choose

If you share a recording with another user, send a link, or invite teammates to a workspace, those people will be able to see the content you shared with them. You control these sharing settings.

5.3 Business Transfers

If Videcap is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your Personal Data.

5.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose Personal Data if we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to:

  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of Videcap, our users, or the public

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your Personal Data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business need (for example, financial records, fraud prevention, or pending legal claims).

No system is perfectly secure, however. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. If you suspect your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at support@videcap.com.

  1. International Data Transfers

Videcap operates globally, and your Personal Data may be processed in countries other than the one in which you reside, including the United States. These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction.

When we transfer Personal Data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to a country not deemed adequate by the European Commission (or equivalent authority), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or other legally recognized mechanisms.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have specific rights, including the right to know what categories of Personal Information we collect, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of "sales" or "sharing" as defined under California law.
